We are studying signal-dependent dynamics of protein phosphorylation of membrane proteins

Our Research Interest

The main research focus of the group is the characterization of adaptive signaling processes through membrane protein and protein modification (phosphorylation) in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. We are especially interested in early and fast responses induced by changes in nutrient availability (carbon, nitrogen).

We use modern large-scale quantitative proteomic methods for the identification of dynamic changes in protein phosphorylation, for modification-dependent interaction screening, and comparative protein profiling. In combination with bioinformatic tools we aim at studying plant regulatory kinase-substrate networks.
